The Times Article

Ann Marston had been happily retired for almost a decade when a letter from HSBC — the bank where she had worked for nearly 40 years — landed on her doorstep.

It told Marston, now 72, from Coventry, that the bank had overpaid her pension for the previous eight years. The letter, which she received in 2018, said she owed £8,000, which she could either pay as a lump sum or have £74 deducted from her monthly pension.
